Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

Astanga Yoga is an ancient science which consists of different series of postures. They aim to cleanse and detoxify the body on all levels; organs, muscles, blood and nervous system.

A specific order of asanas (postures) are linked together in flowing sequence, in which the breath continues steadily throughout the practice.

Vinyasa refers to the idea of linking the breath with movement and a defined number of breaths leading you into and out of a posture. The breath that is used is called Ujjayi breath, and involves the use of the so-called Bandhas, which are muscle seals. They together, cause the internal heat created when practising, which is responsible for the detoxification and safety in your practice.

Dristi is a particular gazing point used in all postures, to help the mind to focus.
